PX222 Detailed Introduction

Product Description

Pure PX222 is a Type I, macroporous strong-base anion exchange resin supplied in chloride to be used for decoloration and organic removal in in the sugar industry.

Pure PX222 can be used for Sugar syrup decoloration and Natural juices decoloration, for best performance, the influent stream should be well-filtered sugar syrup with no traces of any strong oxidizing agents used in the upstream process. Pure PX222 can be also well used for tannins and other naturally occurring organic matter in potable water, which will be easily regenerated with sodium chloride. For industrial applications it is sometimes useful to add 0.5 to 2% NaOH in weight, based on the NaCl in order to increase capacity and reduce leakage.

Hydraulic Properties

Pressure Drop: The graph above shows the expected pressure loss per foot of bed depth as a function of flow rate at various temperatures.

Backwash: After each cycle the resin bed should be backwashed at a rate that expands the bed 50 to 75 percent. This will remove any foreign matter and reclassify the bed. The graph above shows the expansion characteristics of PX222
